Beachwood Coyotes | Face To Face (new single and music video)
Los Angeles-based, indie rock band, Beachwood Coyotes, takes the prize for one of the most interesting stories behind a band name. Several years ago, lead singer Jason Nott decided to take a night hike up the Beachwood Canyon trail to the iconic Hollywood sign after his band had just broken up, and he'd taken acid for the first time. As he approached the trailhead, he spotted a group of coyotes heading down towards him, and decided it was best to just head back to his apartment. The next morning, Jason learned in the morning news that three decapitated bodies were discovered on the very same trail, victims of an apparent gang hit - with time of death the same time he was scared away by those coyotes that most likely saved his life. Fast forward a bit, add in band members Yan Clermont (guitar), Bryan King (drums), and Drew Smith (bass), and Beachwood Coyotes was born.
"Face To Face" is the band's impressive, new single which presents an energetic, driving, indie rock anthem with strong, harmonic vocals and infectious melodies. It's the first single from their upcoming EP, Scrubby, produced by Austen Moret, which is set to be released this summer. "Thematically, the EP deals with growth and overcoming obstacles that have been placed in your way, as well as questioning and rejecting things that you may have taken for granted in the past," reveals drummer Bryan King. "A band coming of age record, if you will."
The band recently unveiled the scenic, accompanying music video for "Face To Face", shot by Jorge Urbina, and directed and edited by Beachwood Coyotes themselves.
