Los Angeles singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alex Walker launches his new music project AWALK with the release of his captivating debut single, "Light." The steady beat of a heavy, echoing bass drum immersed in pulsing electronic undercurrents drives the pace and vibe, with Alex's mesmerizing and commanding vocal delivery rounding out the energized, yet dreamy sonic structure of this fresh, dynamic track. Representing the first taste of music from AWALK's forthcoming debut album, One Day, lead-off single "Light" has already found its way into the newest Lexus RX Hybrid commercial.
In "Light," the narrator asks us about our own relationship with the sublime, nature, the wonder of it all, the expanse. The song lyrics, a series of questions, are perhaps ones that we all must ask ourselves at some point, checking in with our internal voice, making sure that we take it all in while we're here.

"Light" was produced by AWALK, mixed by Daniel Knowles, mastered by John Greenham, and includes a special feature by Bill Walker, Alex's father, on bass.
Once a promising young classical guitarist, and student who sought the world’s premier guitarists for lessons and insight, Alex slowly grew disillusioned with the art-for-sport, cut-throat nature of that world. His passion and knack for writing music eventually led him to NYC, where he composed for several cartoons such as Yu Gi Oh GX, TMNT, and GI JOE. Alex first landed on my music radar in early 2017, with his project Share Lions and impressive debut album Keep Close, which garnered attention in indie music circles and generated the single and accompanying music video for "Little Love." Alex also launched indie project Gypsy Moth Control in 2019, which released several impressive singles, including "Saturating Horizons," "Good Ideas" and "Mulholland Hwy Son."
Flash forward to 2021 and Alex is composing music that's finding its way into ads for luxury brands such as Lexus and Ritz Carlton. Film scoring is yet another creative avenue for Alex, recently having scored COAST (2021), with Grouplove's Christian Zucconi and Hannah Hooper. He is also credited as a co-writer of Grouplove's single "Expectations" from their Healer (2020) album.
