"Above Water" is the stunning debut single from Cal Trask, the musical creation of Canadian singer-songwriter Calvin Heinrichs, and the first taste of new music from the forthcoming Posthumous EP, which was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden in early 2016. Inspired by artists the likes of Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver and The Tallest Man on Earth, this is beautiful, dark indie pop driven by Calvin's soft, poignant piano and heartfelt, soulful, yearning vocals that gently and thoughtfully lead us through this melodic and melancholic tune. If "Above Water" is any indication of what we we can expect to find on the remainder of the Posthumous EP, this artist is definitely one to keep on your musical radar.
The mesmerizing, accompanying video to the "Above Water" single release was filmed in Stockholm, Sweden, directed by Iñaki Marconi, assisted by Daniel Hager and Fredrik Gille.
