We first wrote about Swedish indie pop duo Kastrup (a.k.a. Timmie Strandberg and Puppe Westberg) a few months ago as they released their epic, ultra-melodic single "You and I." As the band prepares for the upcoming May release of their new In Search of Us EP, we have the pleasure of being treated to another outstanding new single, "Lucas", that will appear on the duo's new EP.
With a gentle, pulsing intro of echoing keyboards and background vocals, "Lucas" gradually builds to an energetic, uplifting tempo with a driving, infectious melody - a remarkable songwriting quality that this talented duo has been able to achieve and consistently deliver to the listener. Written by Kastrup and co-produced by the band and Tobias Ekqvist, "Lucas" is a letter to the band members' childhood and the friends who formed them ("Do you remember the storms, the beach? | I can remember the songs, the sea").
